National Defence Academy is the premier institution for Defence related courses in all the three branches of the defence establishment.and subsequent employment. This was an imaginative institution established by the first PM of India Jawaharlal Nehru.
However I must add a personal note Apart from ur other questions the questions about salary and comparison are not quite relevant. When you join the defence servies desire to serve the nation is paramount and other things follow.

I think the salary and perks and later placements are very good.

The National Defence Academy NDA trains young men for a career int he Armed Forces. The course is of a three year duration and is followed by a finishing course at either IMA Army or NA Navy or AFA Air Force after which you become a fully commissioned officer of the Indian Armed Forces. During your study at NDA you earn a B.Sc or a B.Com degree from the Jawaharlal Nehru University. Check the web for more details:

www.nda.nic.in

Specific answers:
1. You will become a commissioned officer in the Armed Force of your choice.
2. Starting salary is around 22K inclusive of all allowances
3. I cant comment on royal job but there is satisfaction in service. Private sector jobs are subject to recession government jobs are not.
4. As an Air Force pilot you will earn an extra flying bounty of Rs. 13000 per month.
5. If you are asking if you should join the Navy or Air Force being a pilot I would always recommend the Air Force
6. Once you join the Air Force you will be granted a Permanent Commission for 15 years and it depends on which stream you are chosen for fighter pilots do not have much of a career outside the Air Force transport pilots have a possibility of a good career in the commercial airlines and helicopter pilots have a possibility of a career with State Governments or ONGC or private companies

If you need more details please ask.
